The watercolor painting started out with a Judith & Holofernes way of thinking, but I feel like I lost that plot line the further I pushed it.
Judith & Holofernes is a common, historic art trope telling the story of a Jewish widow who seduced and murdered a military general by cutting his head off the night before he was going to lay siege to the city she lived in. There are of course, much more complexities and details to the story.
But this story has been illustrated numerous times, my favorites coming from Caravaggio and Gustav Klimt. The scene is usually depicted with the act of the beheading or Judith posing with the decapitated head. The painting I ended up with is not quite as emotionally charged.
I'm still wrestling with a final name, but right now the leading contender is "The Perfect Man".
