I remembered the technical mistake from my last life drawing session (where I spent too much time on a single drawing) and instead I churned out several works this time around, including a watercolor. Teresa was a beautiful, confident, model and I definitely wanted to capture her aura in the drawings. Her side profile immediately grabbed my attention because she has a wonderful face shape. The bare shoulders and breasts added a beautiful feminine touch to the pose, and honestly my other technical shortcomings preventing me from making any of these as effective as I wanted them to be. I must readjust to not having the borders of a photograph help me direct the composition on my artwork.

When it comes to drawing from life, my main focus is striving to create pieces that have an authentic feeling to them. Teresa's second pose was perfect because it felt like it just occurred naturally, as if it was a normal day for her gazing out the window.

These life drawing sessions have been a reminder to buckle down and work on my technique when it comes to creating, especially with watercolors and oils. I look forward to drawing Teresa again.
